Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 August 2026

These terms govern your use of PostReef (the "Service"), available at postreef.com. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

PostReef is operated by Francisco Macedo, sole trader, registered in Portugal, Rua Acácio de Paiva 10, 2.º Dto., 1700-005 Lisboa, Portugal ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What the Service does

You submit a public URL. We fetch what is publicly available at that URL — metadata, transcript, comments, audio, video, or page text — and optionally run an AI model over it to return data conforming to a JSON Schema you choose or supply.

We are an automated tool acting on your instructions. We do not review, curate, or endorse the content you point us at.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate registration details. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and API keys, including usage and charges. Keep your API keys secret; roll them immediately if exposed.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • break any law, or infringe anyone's copyright, database, privacy, or personality rights;
  • access content that is not publicly available, or circumvent authentication, paywalls, or access controls;
  • process content depicting minors sexually, or content that is otherwise illegal to possess or distribute;
  • build a dataset or product whose purpose is to violate a third-party platform's terms;
  • resell raw access to the Service as a general-purpose scraping proxy;
  • attack, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, or evade its rate limits, credit accounting, or concurrency limits.

You are responsible for the URLs you submit. Fetching a page may be governed by the source platform's terms and by copyright law in your jurisdiction. You represent that you have the right to process the content you request, for the purpose you request it. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are breaching this section.

5. Credits, payment and refunds

The Service runs on prepaid credits. 1 credit = $0.0001; credits are bought in a single top-up via Stripe and are priced and displayed in credits. Prices for each extraction are quoted before you submit and debited when you submit.

  • A run that fails on our side is refunded in full, automatically.
  • A run that completes is charged, including one that returns a "no match" verdict — the work was performed.
  • Credits do not expire and are non-transferable.
  • Credits have no cash value and are not redeemable for money. Except where a refund is required by law, top-ups are non-refundable.
  • If you enable auto-recharge, you authorise us to charge your saved card the amount and at the threshold you configure, until you turn it off.

Prices may change; a change never affects credits you already hold.

Consumer right of withdrawal (EU/EEA)

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By topping up and then starting an extraction, you expressly request that we begin performance immediately and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for the credits consumed once the extraction has run. Unused credits from a top-up made in the last 14 days can be refunded on request to [email protected].

6. Your data and your results

You keep all rights in the content you submit and in the structured results we return. We claim no ownership of them. We process them to run the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not use your submitted content or results to train models.

Extraction artifacts (downloaded media, transcripts, comment dumps) are deleted automatically about five weeks after a run. Download what you need.

7. Availability

The Service depends on third parties we do not control — source platforms, proxy networks, and AI providers. Platforms change their defences without notice. We make no promise of uptime, of any particular success rate on any particular URL, or that a given platform will remain extractable.

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the statutory rights of consumers.

8. AI output

Results are generated by a machine-learning model and can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on them for decisions with legal, financial, medical, or safety consequences without human review. You are responsible for how you use the output.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use threatens the Service or other users. If we terminate your account without cause, we refund your unused credits.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The courts of Lisbon, Portugal have jurisdiction, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory law of their country of residence. EU consumers may also use the Online Dispute Resolution platform.
